Patriotic Hollywood Banishes James Woods Because He's Gross
Will he still get invited to the good parties on Martha's Vineyard?
The Democrat Civil War wages on, and the casualties keep piling up. First, there was Alan Dershowitz, and now sometime actor, all-the-time creep James Woods has been cut down in the prime of his lowlife after his agent apparently realized he was still representing him.
So this email from my agent (a political liberal) today... https: //t.co/RLXUWi9no8

Woods describes The Gersh Agency partner Ken Kaplan as a "political liberal," and while he certainly knows Kaplan better than I do, nothing in Kaplan's breakup email backs up that assertion. Kaplan states that he's "feeling patriotic." Conservatives usually claim to have controlling interest in the firm of Patriotism, Flag Waving, and Apple Pie, LLC, and a growing number of conservatives and former Republicans want nothing more to do with Trump's GOP -- arguably because it attracts the likes of James Woods. Woods recently denounced these political heretics on Twitter in his typical "angry drunk at last call" fashion.

Woods himself is newer to the Republican Party than the #NeverTrumpers he derides. He claims he was a Democrat until 1998 when the party did the unthinkable.

Five Democrats voted for three of the four impeachment charges against Clinton, and not all Republicans voted to convict him in the Senate. Also: Really? Clinton's lies about consensual sex were too much for the honorable Mr. Woods but that collection of felonies and treason stuffed inside an ill-fitting suit is his guy? He also argued that Kaplan dumping him was a terrible offense to the "first amendment rights" conservatives love so much until they support boycotting the NFL because the players peacefully exercised their own first amendment rights.
Anyway, I don't mean to kick an asshole when he's down, but Woods's career of late hasn't been such that anyone could reasonably argue his agent dropped him just because he's an outspoken Trump supporter. "Your political views offend me" is probably easier on Wood's wounded pride right now than "I can make more money representing Charo's second cousin."
There were also compelling #MeToo/#TimesUp reasons for severing ties with Woods. Actor Amber Tamblyn accused Woods of trying to pick her up when she was 16 and he was so much older.
My friend Billy and I were at the Roxy on Sunset Boulevard seeing a band we loved. We decided to go to Mel's diner on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood to get burgers after. I had just gotten my driver's license and very specifically remember my nervousness trying to park in the diner parking lot. Upon leaving the restaurant we were stopped by you and your friend, who both seemed very nice. At one point you suggested we should all go to Las Vegas together. "It's such a great place, have you ever been?" You tried to make it sound innocent. This is something predatory men like to do, I've noticed. Make it sound innocent. Just a dollop of insinuation. Just a hair of persuasion. Just a pinch of suggestion. "It will be so much fun, I promise you. Nothing has to happen, we will just have a good time together." I told you my age, kindly and with no judgment or aggression. I told you my age because I thought you would be immediately horrified and take back your offer. You laughed and said, "Even better. We'll have so much fun, I promise."
If Woods discovered the secret to having "so much fun" with teenagers that's not in any way illegal (especially in Las Vegas), he could publish a series of successful parenting books, but I think it's more likely he's just disgusting.
All that said, I love James Woods the actor, who has played some of my favorite villains on screen. He's usually better than a lot of the garbage he often wound up in. I think I only made it through 1994's The Specialist because of Woods's performance.
He was also great with Melanie Griffith in 1998's Another Day in Paradise , which he co-produced. I love when the two dance to Clarence Carter's "Looking for a Fox."
So, it's kind of a shame if Woods's career is effectively over for any number of perfectly valid reasons. He now joins every other 70something white retired guy spending all their free time posting racist jokes about Obama on social media and wondering why people don't respect "our president."
There is one upside for Woods: He was nominated for an Emmy for his portrayal of Rudy Giuliani in a 2003 TV movie back when people felt compelled to like the former New York mayor. Whenever the inevitable HBO film is made about the Trump era, Woods will have an inside line on a major role.
You love Wonkette very much, yes? Please DONATE to our snarky cause.
very valid point, there are too many schools suffering from a lack of supplies ...
There is so much this applies to, yet it never fails to be glibly funny.
