Rick Santorum is not exactly creating a lot of buzz or momentum in the early stages of his attempt to run for president, so he's just going to throw some metaphors out there and see if they stick. "What these folks are in Washington is no better than a drug dealer," he said. And the Wisconsin unions? "They are acting like their drug is being taken away from them." So how does Dr. Santorum know so much about drugs and drug dealers? Certainly he wasn't a user . So he must run a rehab clinic for addicted youths he was too modest to tell us about. Or maybe one of those kids in the Santorum litter is a drug addict, because going through life high makes more sense than the reality of having Rick Santorum as your dad. Anyway, yes, Rick Santorum, people do get addicted to having a good job and being able to provide for their families. Being addicted to survival is sort of part of what it means to be a living being.
Santorum also devoted substantial attention Monday night to unrest in the Middle East, what he described as kowtowing to dictators by President Obama [...] and a national security policy that does not adequately address emerging threats.
Wait, an AMERICAN PRESIDENT is dealing with dictators? Surely President Rick Santorum would bring a machine gun to his first UN assembly and murder them all right there. Problem solved. Rick Santorum always seemed like an action hero. And then Santorum will dig up Ronald Reagan's corpse and punch him in the face, because that guy REALLY liked to support dictators.
Meanwhile, Obama has come around to accepting revolutions in the Middle East. And as for national security, thousands of fewer people have died in terrorist attacks on U.S. soil under Obama than had under Bush at this point in his presidency, if you want to make inane comparisons (Santorum does).
Rick Santorum is addicted to his once promising past and the love the conservative base had for him, and he will do anything to get that fix. So don't be surprised if he's found in a big donor's bedroom covered in a frothy—well, you know. [ Spartanburg Herald-Journal ]
Is it me or are Republican presidential hopefuls the most moronic, extreme, nativist, anti-intellectual, freaky group of mega egos in the last 100 years? For goodness sakes, Chuck Percy is still alive. Why not him? Can't someone sane take the reins of the party from Larry the Cable Guy and the Palinistas?
